A Zombie Process

Hello

I thought a "Zombie Process" was one
that still existed as a data structure
or having a Process Control Block,
but has beem disconnected from its Parent.
Or, has lost a link to its Parent.

One book says:
"Process no longer exists, but it leaves a record for its Parent process to collect."

Can someone elaborate on this idea, please ...

Karina
