how do you store a bunch of files?

Yeah I keep 2 copies on cdrw and one in gmail now.  I'd like the "gmail
backup" to be some type of self decrypting archive that's also cross
platform.  I'm digging around for a neat app that does this but no luck yet.

For my music collection everything gets ogged and put on cd.  Man it's
too many cds.  I'm waiting for santa to pick up a dvd burner.
