ping <gateway(dsl router)>

if successful:

nslookup
set type=ns
myprovider.com

then:

populate /etc/resolv.conf with:
nameserver nameserver1
nameserver nameserver2

then:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart

by the way, if you can ping your dsl device and the rest of your boxes get out, you should be in business.

I posted this before, has anyone tried to set up a messaging machine/voice mail system with linux and a modem (preferably zyxel...)?
