ALSA privs meltdown

crw------- is not the same as 660 (per your devfs.conf file). I would 
suggest as a temporary test:

chmod -R g+rw /dev/sound/*
chmod -R g+rw /dev/snd/*

And then restart KDE's sound server. That should work. When you reboot, 
devfs should apply those same permissions again, however, it might not, 
which would indicate something is wrong.

Did you run etc-update after you upgraded you packages? Sometimes newer 
versions of packages require their config files to be updated as well.
