X starts denying me access

Perhaps worth mentioning is that I can't find anything odd in
/var/log/XFree86.0.log. All it says is:

AUDIT: Thu Oct 16 11:00:52 2003: 1280 X: client 17 rejected from local
host
AUDIT: Thu Oct 16 11:04:09 2003: 1280 X: client 17 rejected from local
host
AUDIT: Thu Oct 16 11:04:19 2003: 1280 X: client 17 rejected from local
host

But there's nothing above those lines to signal something that broke or
changed.
