Emacs LISP & macros

M-C-% works fine here for query-replace-regexp. Note though that that is
actually three modifier keys, plus the '5/%' key, i.e.

    Control + Shift + Meta + 5

Also - on my machine, 'Meta' is actually the 'windows' key. (The 'Alt' key
is grabbed by the window manager.)

This is Mandrake 8.something.

Do people normally use 'escape' in emacs? That seems rather a painful pinky
stretch to me.
