Linux friendly ISP's in Boston

The recent thread concerning comcast reminded me that I need to
find new bandwidth pretty soon pending my move to Boston. Can you
guys/gals recommend a DSL/Cable provider which is linux friendly?
By that I mean supports external ethernet modems, and does not
block inbound 22, 25 and 80 like many ISP's do these days.

Speakeasy.
