ATT BroadBand Port Blocking

> Here are my home network setup:
> ATT Broadband connection
> RCN cable modem
> LinkSys Router (Model BEFSR41)
> RedHat Linux 7.2 (on Compaq Deskpro)

I'd be interested to know if you can use FTP from your Linux box to the
outside through the Linksys router. One of our staff can't get to our FTP
server from home through his Linksys router, although other folks without a
router can. Our server terminates the connection, leaving this error message
in the logs:

ftpd[31488]: getpeername (in.ftpd): Transport endpoint is not connected

It's the 'getpeername()' request that's failed.
