oops, I trimmed out the wrong part of what I was quoting, and thus made 
my reply a little ambiguous. What I meant to say was,

    eval `ssh-agent`

gives you the multiple instances of ssh-agent that you don't want, 
whereas saving ssh-agent's output to a file and source'ing that file 
from your .bashrc allows you to run a single ssh-agent instance once 
after each reboot and have all bash instances share it.
