Cars probably aren't the best example, as they don't produce anything. Try
VCRs: If each brand of VCR used a different type of tape, would you be
willing to go through and convert all of your old videos to a new format
just to change brands? Most people aren't, that's why VHS VCRs still haven't
been replaced by DVD.
