Could it be that maybe the MSFT Apps use the correct Win32 calls?
There are Win32 calls that have been brought up on BUGTRAQ that do exactly
what the whitepaper author suggested needed to be done. There are ways of
doing it securely, it just may be that developers could be lazy.
