X(Free86) and panning

Howdy all,

I've just spent some time fiddling with the X configuration on a box
running RH 6.1 (with a 4MB Matrox G200 installed)...it runs fine in
1280x1024, but when set to 1024x768, it switches to some weird virtual
screen mode in which it only displays a portion of the screen and pans
around as the cursor approaches the edge of the display.

Not what the user wants :).

Ignoring the obvious answer of "upgrade the darn box already", does anyone
know how to disable this behavior?

Thanks,
