I'm not gonna go through that list, as I'm sure you'll do a thorough 
evaluation yourself, but Sylpheed will do most of those, if not all.  I've 
been using it for a little over a year now and can't recommend it enough.  
There are usually releases once a month with new (stable, too) features 
being added regularly, and it's very fast and painless to use.  I normally 
use fetchmail to grab my mail and Pine remotely or Sylpheed at my desk for 
mail and news.
