Activating on-motherboard (integrated) sound in Linux

What does it take to make an
	on-motherboard sound
work in Linux RedHat 7.2?

I have a Compaq model
	DeskPro 6400 EN
that its motherboard has integrated sound ports (input, output, mic),
as opposed to sound cards which fits in PCI or ISA slots.

When I reboot my Linux box, I get the following messages which are
related to the sound:
	"Checking for new hardware:
	............................
	modprobe: cannot locate module sound-slot-0
	modprobe: cannot locate module sound-service-0-0
	"

I have also seen the following message occasionally:
" aumix: error opening mixer "

Your insights/pointers in resloving this issue will be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
