Network install

Kind of a hypothetical situation.
The CD/DVD drive on my laptop is not currently working. For about 6 months
most of the time when booting the manufacturer name is garbled, such a
Poshiva or something as bizzarre. I want to install SuSE 7.3, which has 7
CDs and 1 DVD. My desktop does not have a DVD so I was thining:

Mount the DVD on my wife's Windows system, and copy the contents to my
desktop hard drive, that has plenty of space. Will that work for a network
install assuming I have an NFS server up and running on the desktop.(Or an
ftp server). I'd rather not copy or mount all 7 CD-ROMS.

Anyhow, it's easier to ask and get people's experiences before spending the
time. --
