Why is my router activity light going nuts?

Lately I've noticed that the activity light on my linksys router is constantly
blinking. We're talking more than once a second, even when I'm not active on
the machine. I would have thought at first that it's just viruses trying to
get in, but the router logs show an occasional hit on port 80, 23/25, or some
random ones. It's not like I'm seeing megs worth of incoming access logs.
Should I be worried? The actual lights that are specific to the 1 connection
I have to the box (link/act, full/col and 100) are all lit, fairly constantly.
The ones I'm referring to don't seem associated with any of the 4 ports,
which leads me to believe that it's incoming hits on the router.
