What is /etc/host.conf

Not terribly helpful, I know, but on this 6.2 box:

$ rpm -qf /etc/host.conf 
setup-2.1.8-1

rpm -ql setup shows that setup contains a bunch of general /etc
configuration files, such as hosts.allow/deny, profile, etc.
