(FWD)linux, cable modem, and RCN



Were you able to use a Windows box to connect?, such as the 
installer's laptop. 

I do remember on an earlier SuSE release, that dhcpclient would fail if 
the specified interface was in an up state. Also, make sure that your 
ethernet card is generating a good MAC address. If I recall, RCN uses 
the MAC address as part of the generated host name.
