where to lookup current kernel limitations



Today, linuxguy at ici.net gleaned this insight:

No, but 2.4 supports 64GB physical memory on systems with ia32 CPUs that
support Intel PAE (Physical Address Extension). I believe that includes
all PII+ CPUs, but I'm not certain.
