Actually no, I don't think it is.  For some reason I can't quite
understand, MySQL gets a lot of good press in the free software community.

But, as Mike Bilow pointed out, of the free systems, only PostgreSQL has
transactions.  I just don't understand how a database without transactions
is considered worthwhile when a perfectly good (free) alternative is
available.

In fact, MySQL is *less* free than PostgreSQL:
