what unix, linux c/c++ to buy

There's more than just that, of course. I got the 6.2 CD's from Cheapbytes
this week, and "upgraded" my home system that was running Mandrake 6.1.
They've
omitted a lot of stuff that Mandrake has.

But, what's most disappointing is that they still are distributing the
2.91.66 version of g++, which has what I consider to be a serious bug in
the optimizer (since it broke code that I wrote!). The 7.0 version of
Mandrake as the 2.95.2 version of g++, which has the optimizer bug fixed.
