need to know, but nice brief intro covers this stuff.

I think the problem here relates to nomenclature - namely, that "hub"
might be rather loosely defined as "some kind of box in the wiring
closet that you plug network cables into".  At least I've never seen any
more precise definition than that.  "Repeater" and "Switch" have more
specific meanings.
