what are good benchmarking tools



Greetings,

I've just loaded a old sparcIPC with RH 6.0 for sparc.  I am configuring the
box to operate as a proxy/firewall for my DSL line being installed in a
few weeks.

Answers from the linux/sparc mailing lists seem to indicate that the IPC
is capable of performing this function.  But I would still like to run
some benchmarks.  What tools/techniques can anyone recommend for generating
meaningful numbers so I can see exactly what the IPC is capable of...
