Sound cards?

I see piles of cheap boxed ISA sound cards at KGP and Northern
shows. Are any of these good?

I want to set up v4l on a k6-200 system, 2.2.5 or 2.2.11 kernel.
Sound quality equivalent to a $80 tv is fine.

Any recommendations for basic sound? What are the issues?

On a tangent: Has the wattage rating method for speakers
changed, or can these little speakers make you deaf before
they shatter themselves?

Say what? ... Huh? ... What was that again?
