copy & paste in X windows.

     Could someone please advise:

I am running RHL 4.2 on an i486. I am using fvwm2 as window
manager in XFree. However I find that I am unable to cut and paste
text between X-Term windows (or seemingly any windows).
Do I need to set up my mouse to do this in some config file? gpm
starts normally on booting so this is not the problem. I can highlight
the text with the mouse, but seem unable to copy and paste it. I also
have tried with and without 3 button emulation on my 2 button ps/2
     mouse.
        Thanks for any help.

                Andrew Gaskell.
