I set CONFIG_PRINTER=y...

hmmm... me neither! BTW, did you upgrade to a 1.3.x or 1.99/2.0 kernel?
If so, was it a royal pain? I really want to make the upgrade, but as my
machine is "live" all the time, it is difficult and risky to do it while
risking being down for a day or so. I really need to patch for ELF (to
run the Java kit, new Netscape beta, etc.), but would just rather do the full
upgrade all at once rather than much around. I would prefer to do it via
a CDROM so that everything is right there for me, thus I avoid having to
download a bazillion different libraries and tar files...

Thanks!
-Eric

p.s. I resigned from my fulltime job as a SW developer a few weeks ago. I'm
moving to San Fran next year, but until then, I'm doing consulting/contracting
full time... if you hear of anyone that needs software dev (Unix) or Internet
work, please let me know! More info is at www.worldmachine.com!
