pretty print FAX w/ linux

I would like to send ``pretty print'' FAXes with
my linux box, but I am having trouble figuring
out a way. I have tried a cumbersome procedure
involving ghostscript, but, for the
several fonts that I have tried, the end result
is ugly.

Has anyone had success with printing nice
looking text over a FAX line?

Does any know of a ``one call does it all''
program to send ASCII text out over the FAX machine?
