Boston Linux & UNIX was originally founded in 1994 as part of The Boston Computer Society. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Building E51.

Summary

3D printing ranges from hobbyist to prototyping to organ printing

Abstract

You will get a look into the hobby level of 3D printing using PLA plastic filament and a $1250 printer (Lulzbot Mini). The projects you will see run from frivolous to practical. The example projects have all been developed using OpenSCAD, with occasional support for outlines made using Inkscape. Both are well-respected Free Software.
