Boston Linux & UNIX was originally founded in 1994 as part of The Boston Computer Society. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Building E51.

South End Technology Center @ Tent City
The Tent City complex occupies the block between Dartmouth and Yarmouth Sts. on Columbus Ave., and is behind Copley Place.

From the Prudential Station (Green Line):

  • Walk east (toward Boston) 2 blocks to Dartmouth St.
  • Take a right at Dartmouth.
  • Walk one block to Columbus Ave.
  • Take a right, walk about 3/4 of a block to the Tech Center.

From the Copley Station (Green Line):

  • Walk east one block to Dartmouth St, take a right.
  • Walk 3 blocks to Columbus.

From Back Bay Station (Orange Line, Commuter Rail):

  • Exit the Dartmouth St. exit (that is the main entrance).
  • Cross Dartmouth St. and take a left.
  • Tent City is on your right.
  • When you get to Columbus, take a right and walk to the Tech Center.

Driving:

  • Take the Mass Pike West, and get off at the Copley Sq. exit.
  • Take your first right onto Dartmouth.
  • The Dartmouth St. Garage ($$) is in Tent city, or there is some limited on-street parking.
