Boston Linux & UNIX was originally founded in 1994 as part of The Boston Computer Society. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Building E51.

From the North

  • Go South on Rte. 128/I95 to exit 28 (Trapelo Road).
  • Go left off the exit onto Trapelo Road.
  • At first set of lights, turn right onto Smith Street (Smith Street changes to Wyman Street).
  • Approximately 1/4 mile on the right is IBM - 404 Wyman Street North.
  • Park in garage and enter building.
  • Sign in, and ask security guard for the IBM Solution Partnership Center - East.

From the South

  • Go north on Rte. 128/I95 to exit 27B (Winter Street/Wyman Street exit).
  • At lights turn left onto Wyman Street.
  • Approximately 3/4 mile on your left is IBM - 404 Wyman Street North (NORTH ENTRANCE WITH IBM LOGO).
  • Park in garage and enter building.
  • Sign in, and ask security guard for the IBM Solution Partnership Center - East.

The IBM facility is also accessible by the 70A bus. After the meeting, you'll need a ride to the Waltham Commuter Rail station or a (T) stop.

Summary

A demonstration of Lotus software on Linux

Abstract

Lotusphere 2000's theme was “Looking Forward.” It was a collage of technologies and surprises. Lotus' decision to support Microsoft Outlook client was one of them. (Go to the URL below for opinion survey.) Expanded support for Linux was evident.

For our February meeting we are fortunate to have Greg Kelleher present the Lotus Vision for Linux and Domino. (Be sure to read the announcement for free training at the bottom of this announcement.) This meeting notice has been cross-posted with the Linux SIG.
