Boston Linux & UNIX was originally founded in 1994 as part of The Boston Computer Society. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Building E51.

Abstract

The meeting will be a "short" discussion of various software projects which make video on Linux possible, and a "long" demonstration. The focus of the discussion is from a "user" prespective, although any technical knowledge from the audience is always welcome. So if you are familiar with video specifications (NTSC,PAL, etc...) or anything realted to video on computers, please come. Session Outline: * An introduction to the API's: Video4Linux & Video4Linux II * A short discussion of related software projects: bttv, xawtv, vstream, xfree86 * Compiling and installing the source/software * Demonstration
